The Hills Lacrosse board wants to remind everyone that the last day for registration for the spring season is Friday January 23rd. There will be a 1 week late registration period with an additional $50 fee that will expire February 1st. We will not be able to accept any registrations after February 1st. Please go to thehillslacrosse.org to register
Don't forget 2nd graders are now allowed to play this spring so registration is open for all boys and girls in 2nd to 8th grade. We are looking for players at every level, particularly for the girls program, and no prior lacrosse experience is necessary.
Game schedules for all teams are now up on the website to help everyone with planning. To see the schedule for your child please click on the teams tab at the top, find your child's team and then select the schedule tab. Hopefully this is helpful.
We will be switching to reversible pinnies for uniforms for boys teams grade 3 to 6 for the spring season. There will be 2 uniform fitting sessions on Feb 10th and Feb 11th from 7pm to 9pm in the North Cafeteria at WHRHS. We will also have merchandise for sale on those nights and we will be reopening the merchandise store immediately following the uniform fitting sessions.
For the girls, we will continue to use the reversible pinnies that we have already been using. Players needing new uniforms will have an opportunity to order at a later date.
For the boys 7/8th grade teams, Coach Lovejoy will be preparing a uniform/merchandise package w details to follow.
Again to register please go to thehillslacrosse.org. If you have any questions please call or email Pete Brady at 973-879-5238 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

We want to make sure all of our members are aware that 2 specific lacrosse helmets are no longer certified as safety compliant and will not be allowed to be used by children in our program:
US Lacrosse, the national governing body for men’s and women’s lacrosse, has been notified by NOCSAE (National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment) that two lacrosse helmet models currently available in the marketplace -- the Cascade Model R and the Warrior Regulator -- do not meet the NOCSAE helmet standard, ND041.
NOCSAE’s public statement, available in its entirety at www.nocsae.org, says that the organization made its determination following an independent investigation and evaluation of the two helmets, including a review of each manufacturer’s internal testing and quality control data. As a result, NOCSAE has voided the manufacturer’s certification of compliance, for all manufacturing dates, for the two helmet models.
Rules written by US Lacrosse, the NCAA and the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) mandate that all helmets must meet NOCSAE standards and be NOCSAE certified. Both models had previously been certified by the manufacturers as being compliant with the NOCSAE standard.
NOCSAE’s statement adds that both Cascade and Warrior have been notified of these conclusions by NOCSAE, and have indicated that they are working to address the issue.
Consumers seeking further information about these two helmet models are advised to contact the manufacturers directly: Cascade (1-800-537-1702); Warrior (1-800-968-7845).
